A Collective Voice on Adoption Support Reform
The Consortium of Adoption Support Agencies (CASA) has submitted its response to the Department for Education’s consultation, bringing together insights from across its member organisations. Drawing on extensive clinical experience with adopted children and families under special guardianship, the submission paints a clear picture of the challenges faced on the ground.
Across contributions, several themes stand out: the often complex and under-recognised needs of children, the importance of specialist and relationship-based support, and the vital role of parents and carers—who themselves need consistent clinical backing. The response also raises growing concerns about how recent and proposed changes could affect specialist services and the capacity of the workforce that sustains them.
